A Rare Foot Duplication: Mirror Foot - Case Report

The mirror foot anomaly, regarded as a rare variant of preaxial polydactyly, is defined by the presence of a mirror image duplication of the foot. Due to the variability of mirror foot patterns in the literature, defining the term "mirror foot" is challenging. In this case study, we present the treatment of a five-year-old male patient with a mirror foot anomaly who was admitted to our outpatient clinic. There is no agreement on the best surgical management strategy, and very few cases have been documented in the literature.

Preaksiyal polidaktilinin nadir bir varyantı olarak kabul edilen ayna ayak anomalisinde, ayakta ayna görüntüsüne benzer bir duplikasyon gözlemlenir. Literatürde ayna ayak paternlerinin çeşitliliği nedeniyle bu terimin net bir şekilde tanımlanması güçtür. Bu olgu sunumunda, polikliniğimize başvuran ve ayna ayak anomalisine sahip beş yaşındaki bir erkek hasta üzerinde uygulanan tedavi süreci detaylandırılmaktadır. Literatürde en uygun cerrahi yönetim stratejisi konusunda bir fikir birliği bulunmamakta olup, bu konuda bildirilen vakalar son derece sınırlıdır. (SETB-2024-09-150)
